Funny How I End Up Back In Michigan…

I was helping out on WikiTree on a family in Siskiyou County, California.  I’d never heard of it.  It’s at the very top of California.  While researching the members of the Crawford family there, I found a connection to Michigan.

Lawrence Rufus Crawford, born 1879 in Fort Jones, Siskiyou, California, married a woman named Laura Pearl.  That’s all I had for her.  As is my wont, I started researching the children to see if I could find a maiden name for her.  Found it…in Michigan.  Lawrence and Laura’s oldest son, Lester, married in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1943 and gave his mother’s maiden name as Stainbrook.  When I looked for her under her maiden name, her social security application popped up showing a new last name.

Lawrence died in 1956.  Laura remarried and I found her death information listed under her new married name with her parents surnames listed as she gave in the social security application.
